ABSTRACT
The article says that the coal-fired power plants in Great Britain must focus on carbon capture and storage (CCS) to reduce their carbon footprint and to save the coal mining and production sector that supplies them. It is said that the nation still has 19 coal stations, which supply around 30% of total electricity. It is said that the government is looking for a candidate for its 1-billion pounds fund to finance a CCS demonstration project and coal-fired power plants should be its priority.
