ABSTRACT
The energy matrix for Latin America is estimated to be based in using of gas. For this there are more than 3500 brass rods ton. to manufacture valves for forming process and the manufacture of parts. The studied brasses are 37700 C with different percentages of Pb. Production of bar by continuous casting will cost 40 to 50% lower in the production process. These are used as feedstock in the manufacture of valves for gas cylinders, valves, water heaters, valves for heating and cooking stoves and the gas supply in the automotive industry and many others. In the present work is to compare with a ductile fracture with a stereoscopic image of the same material but in different production processes. In the fracture type "honeycomb" you can see a marked difference in both the ductile fracture type, the difference of the panel opening, density, depth and distribution of lead in the cavities. This difference has a strong influence on the toughness of the material or parts, which leads to breakdowns in service.
