The article focuses on the history of Georgia Virtual School (GVS) and its benefits to Georgia students. GVS is part of the Virtual Learning Business Plan approved by Georgia State Board of education to address the need for online courses in Georgia schools particularly those experiencing scheduling conflicts, teaching staff shortages, and course offering problems. Meeting Georgia Performance Standards and College Board standards, GVS offers courses to public, private and home-school students.
