ABSTRACT
The article discusses the prevalent corruption and bureaucracy in Nigeria. It is stated that Nigeria's public bureaucracy is inefficient and corrupt because it is influenced by its environment, which is characterised by lack of strict adherence to rules, ethics and standard norms for moral conduct in public offices. In Nigeria, many people see corruption as a practical problem involving outright theft, embezzlement of funds from state property, and nepotism.
