ABSTRACT
The article features make up artist Erwin Gomez, who is recovering after a failed marriage with partner James Packard and bankruptcy. Gomez, who migrated from the Philippines to California with his family, started as a make up artist for then-fashion photographer Farzad Kasrabod at age 15 and was hired by Sharilyn Abbajay in 1994 to revive the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in Chevy Chase DC. In 2011, Gomez closed his own salon, was abandoned by his partner and filed for bankruptcy in July 2011.
