Sheahan, Matthew
November 2011
High Yield Report;11/21/2011, p1
The article provides an update on trends in emerging markets (EM) bond funds. Debt issuance by companies in emerging markets is reportedly running at record levels with some gravitating toward Latin America and Asia instead of the emerging markets in Europe. The performance of emerging market high yield bonds is described to be outperforming the broader junk bond market with returns of 7.4 percent. Reason for the interest in emerging markets is explained in relation to European sovereign debt.
