ABSTRACT
The article reports that according to an announcement from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) in India, health insurance policies will be portable from July 1, 2011. A recent report from the regulator says that when a policyholder moves from one region to another or from one employer to another, he may be penalized or lose his health insurance covers, therefore portability is important for them.
