Global - AEGON divests Transamerica Reinsurance to SCOR

The article reports that AEGON NV has divested its life reinsurance business, Transamerica Reinsurance, to SCOR to the tune of 1.4 billion dollars. This consists of 0.9 billion dollars in cash proceeds and 0.5 billion dollars in capital. Alex Wynaendts, AEGON's chief executive officer (CEO), says that the transaction is consistent with AEGON's core business.
