ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Brazilian government enacted two reinsurance regulations causing international associations to write to them. The new regulations require 40% of reinsurance business to be placed with local Brazilian reinsurer and prohibit local insurers and reinsurers from ceding more than 20% of their premiums to affiliated, intra-group insurers that are located abroad.
