ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which aims to quantify the atmospheric concentrations levoglucosan and its isomers using high performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS). The study analyzed biomass burning tracers and levoglucosan, mannosan, and galactosan isomers with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique and LC-ESI-MS/MS. Results show good agreement between the methods and that LC-ESI-MS/MS can be used as alternative to GC-MS.
