ABSTRACT
The article presents six tips to guide business leaders develop their thinking skills in order to lead with insight and vision and sustain their competitive advantage. The cases of IBM and General Motors are cited as examples of profit machines diminishing their viability and limiting their sustainability and survivability. Tips elaborated include acknowledging the need to generate and develop ideas, seeing the difference between mission and vision, and co-creating a collective vision.
