ABSTRACT
The article offers the author's views on the essence of remediation in removing contaminants or hazards from groundwater. He discusses the factors affecting the use of remediation methods and some commonly used methods including phytoremediation, air sparging and vapor extraction and permeable reactive barriers. It notes that phytoremediation has been proven effective, requires less equipment and labor and the process allows the workers to avoid contact from harmful chemicals.
