The article focuses on the threats faced by the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program due to tight budgets and congressional cost cutting. The program was developed to increase the quality and efficiency of U.S. organizations. Although the funds of the program is still in place, it is expected to change when the proposed budget reduction is approved. It is also believed that the affordability and integrity of the program is affected by federal involvement and the funding that goes with it.
