ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the lessons learned by the National Organization for Women (NOW) from the Summer of Mercy campaign first held by the Operation Rescue in Germantown, Maryland after the clinic of the late Doctor LeRoy Carhart, who performed abortion, was shut down. One is the ability of the Operation Rescue to take responsibility for violent actions, images and words aimed at pro-life movement. NOW also realized that the best way to deal anti-abortion activists is peace.
