ABSTRACT
The article discusses a study on the formation of strategic alliance in the retail industry in Croatia. The authors argue that Croatian retailers are capable to enter into strategic alliances to achieve and maintain competitive advantage. The four basic conditions in entering strategic alliance, methods of forming alliances, types of alliances and elements of alliances are mentioned.
