ABSTRACT
The article discusses the role of mentors in business and their influence on talent. It points that mentors offer advice, lend moral support and provide forward thrust for their coachees to move towards their intention. It cites the traits mentors should have which include being trusted and respected by the coachee, be in a position to observe the coachee's on-the-job behavior consistently and one who has the coachee's best interest at heart. It cites shadow coach as one key role of the mentor.
