ABSTRACT
The article discusses the importance of embracing intelligent and flexible leadership that modifies business models by making strategic and tactical adjustments, and by devising a contingency plan. Strategy and tactics are different concepts. The stories of Facebook, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart are examples of tactical evolution, while the story of Target demonstrates strategic evolution. Emphasis is given on the need for leaders to know how to work their strategy and tactics together.
