ABSTRACT
This article discusses the relevance of personality characteristics to leadership. The authors reveal that despite the tools, processes and programs for developing leadership skills, some leaders are more effective than others. The eight dimensions of leadership such as pioneering, affirming and commanding are listed. It points out that leadership development (LD) does not have to be trial and error, and personality characteristics can be leveraged to create a personalized LD experience.
