The author comments on the significance of having written agreements between business clients and credit unions (CUs) in order to manage risk in that sector. Ken Otsuka, senior consultant, risk management, at CUNA Mutual Group, says that when things go wrong, having a written agreement pushes the liability and helps protect the credit union. Agreements can also help against loss exposures for credit unions offering remote deposit capture.
