ABSTRACT
The article reports on the regulatory developments in the European Union (EU) in August 2011. European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published on August 23 a consultation paper outlining its proposals for detailed guidelines on supervision and third-country entities that underlie the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). ESMA also published on August 26 a set of questions and answers (Q&As) regarding European money market funds. City of London Law Society (CLLS) published on August 10 the response of its Regulatory Law Committee to the June 2011 consultation paper of the EU Commission on policy options for an internal market development for venture capital in the EU.
