ABSTRACT
The article presents insights and views by leading healthcare chief financial officers (CFO) during the CFO Exchange organized by this journal on various strategic challenges. It notes that on the issue of value-based purchasing (VBP) which the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has initiated, the CFO's were skeptical of the desired results. Also among the highlights is the CFO panel's concurrence to the necessity of double-digit cuts in operations in the near term.
