ABSTRACT
The article reports on the need for credit unions (CUs) to relax their lending standards in the U.S. It cites the September 2011 loan data, which shows that CUs face negative growth in the year due to their tight lending requirements and standards. It also notes the views of several CU executives concerning the need for the sector to work with the credit-challenged applicants and turn them into good loans, and to spend less time talking on lending problems but rather work harder to get loans.
