ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's insights on the reason for the coffeehouse industry's progress. The author cites the Specialty Coffee Association of America's (SCAA) survey, which shows that coffehouse sales consistently increase since mid-2010. He acknowledges the degree of decentralization implemented in coffeeshops, which allows more fragmentation and independence to the supply chain. He also notes how decentralization results to collective flexibility of the retail coffee industry.
