ABSTRACT
The article reports on the sales increases posted by Cleveland, Ohio-based Olympic Steel Inc. in the second quarter of 2011 with net sales of 299 million dollars which is up 41% compared to the second quarter of 2010. Olympic's 2011 second quarter net income increased 144% to 7.9 million dollars and tons sold increased 13% to 285,000. Also, its net sales totaled 493.4 million dollars, its net income tripled to 18.3 million dollars, and tons sold grew 27% to 603,000 for the first half of 2011.
