ABSTRACT
The article offers information on different types of automobile brakes and their pads. It states that drum brakes are not used much even though they are more efficient than the disc design. It mentions that to aid heat dissipation discs brakes have incorporated cross-drilled holes and have moved from being cast iron units. It highlights that effectiveness of brake pad is measured by ratio of friction force compared to force which presses two surfaces together.
