ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the demutualization of Economical Mutual Insurance Co. Canadian Association of Mutual Insurance Cos. (CAMIC) president Normand Lafrenière notes that distribution of the Economical Mutual's value creates a circle of self-interest among stakeholders which is one of the essential drivers of the process. Moreover, president Karen Gavan says that demutualization would allow the company to participate in consolidation of the property/casualty (P/C) industry in Canada.
