ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the legal dispute between Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and Dick Clark Productions Inc. over the Golden Globe Awards show. HFPA has accused Dick Clark Productions, longtime producer of the award show, of hatching a secret plan to wrest control of broadcast rights to the lucrative show telecast. DCP chief executive Mark Shapiro was accused of working on a seven-year contract renewal with National Broadcasting Co. Inc. (NBC) without informing HFPA.
