ABSTRACT
The article focuses on carbon offsetting which is simply reducing carbon emissions elsewhere for the emissions that an entity is responsible. A number of Australian organizations have recognized the benefits of carbon offsetting including Dell, Goldman Sachs, and Hydro Tasmania. An increase by 87% to 123 million tonnes of carbon dioxide in 2008 was posted in the volume of carbon credits traded globally.
