ABSTRACT
The article discusses the downturn of youth powersports market in the U.S. in 2011. According to the owner of Performance PowerSports in Seneca, South Carolina Kurt Mechling, the market descent was contributed by the tightening of family budget, drop in vehicle availability resulting from lead ban, and revolving credit. Moreover, it suggests that dealers must market youth vehicles creatively such as by participating in school programs.
