ABSTRACT
The article offers information on a study conducted by researchers related to physical fitness and health problems in male conscripts of Finland. The study evaluated predictive associations between medical discharge from the compulsory military service and several health risk factors. It states that out of 1411 participants, 133 were discharged prematurely due to health reasons like musculoskeletal diseases. It suggests that there should be increase in muscular fitness before military training.
