ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the concerns of U.S. senators on the deficit-reduction plan of President Barack Obama which includes 10-year cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. Democrat Senator Barbara Mikulski is worried the cuts will be made from health care providers. The plan also aims to save 42 billion dollars from post-acute facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. Senator Tom Harkin adds that the plan would reduce budget for disease prevention and health promotion. INSET: Please, spare us.
