ABSTRACT
The article explores similarities and differences between the ICx trainsets for Deutsche Bahn of Germany and Great Britain's planned IEP Super Express trains. Both fleets, due to enter commercial service in 2016, are intended to replace big fleets of inter-city stock on medium and long-distance services. Both are conceived as flexible trainsets. One significant difference between the German and British trains is related to catering provision. Another difference is associated with power supply.
