AXA: Open-Ended Funds To Dominate Europe

Iyer-Ahrestani, Savita
July 2011
High Yield Report;7/11/2011, p15
The article discusses the possibility of leveraged finance replacing collaterized loan obligations (CLO), according to Jean-Philippe Levilain, head of leveraged finance for AXA Investment Managers. It states that CLOs largely survived the global financial crisis, but according to Levilain, this will have to make way for leveraged financing due to regulatory changes in Europe. He claims that the latter is an open-ended fund whose liquidity will allow it to be more adaptable to changes.
