ABSTRACT
This article reports on the plans of Fresenius Medical Care AG to acquire Liberty Dialysis Holdings and American Access Care Holdings in 2011. The German dialysis company will purchase the two companies for roughly 2.09 billion U.S. dollars. Liberty chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Caputo expects the deal to improve medical care and reduce costs for the health care system.
