The article presents the September 7, 2011 testimony based on a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) progress and work in the implementation of homeland security missions in ten years after the September 11, 2001 (9/11) terrorist attacks. It examines the challenges and issues facing DHS in implementing its security missions. It also looks into the progress in implementing its missions and work remaining in such efforts.
