ABSTRACT
The article examines the effect of summary writing on reading comprehension and recall of 50 Iranian intermediate English as a foreign language (EFL) female students. It discusses the role of summary writing in promoting reading comprehension and several pedagogical implications for EFL teachers. It details how the study was conducted wherein participants went through numerous tests. The results reportedly suggests that material writers must not neglect the value of summary writing tasks.
