ABSTRACT
The article discusses the Victory Village Forum that was held in Nelson, New Zealand on July 27-29, 2011. The forum was said to be the first family-centered community-led development meet in the country. Information sharing and networking were achieved via plenary sessions, workshops, homegroup sessions and the World Café. Messages of hope, confidence and empowerment were conveyed by stories of communities taking the initiative and overcoming obstacles to help themselves.
