ABSTRACT
The article provides a market overview of the U.S. power industry. It explains the regulatory regime and structure of the U.S. power industry with commentaries from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) which provides official energy statistics from the U.S. government. It notes that the power industry in the country involves a combination of federal utilities, publicly owned suppliers, cooperatives and major investor-owned integrated generators and distributors.
