ABSTRACT
The article discusses the impact of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's criticism to Israel in obstructing peace. It states that his criticism of Israel has drawn strong support in the Arab world, strengthening his campaign to promote Ankara's blend of Islam and democracy as a model for movements that have toppled several Arab autocrats. It adds that Israel's offense against Gaza in 2008 ended its close alliance with Turkey.
