ABSTRACT
The article discusses the various types of gasification technology and thermal pyrolysis and their thermal efficiencies. It states that the conventional gasification changes carbonaceous materials to syngas with the use of limited amount of oxygen or air. It says that plasma arc gasification involves high-temperature process wherein it converts waste solid organics to syngas. It notes that plasma arc gasification was found to be more effective in handling solid wastes.
