The article discusses the American Society for Indexing (ASI), focusing on the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), organizational changes mandated for tax reporting purposes, and profiles of individual SIGs. Topics include ASI SIG coordinator Ina Gravitz's report on the steps necessary to satisfy the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as discussed by ASI director Annette Rogers at the 2011 annual ASI conference in Providence, Rhode Island called "Providential Transformation." Also discussed is the 2011 conference of the Association of Southern African Indexers and Bibliographers (ASAIB) called "Whys and Wherefores of Indexing" and the need to reassess the criteria for indexing awards.
