ABSTRACT
The article presents counterarguments on the contention that Israel is not an apartheid state. It has been argued that Israeli Arabs have been subject to various forms of discrimination, from education to employment opportunities. The differentiation between citizenship and nationality is also cited. Ilan Pappe, an Israeli political science professor, claims that Israel's political system is exclusionary and has some similarities to Herenvolk democracy.
