ABSTRACT
The article reports on the growth of self-pay revenue or balance after insurance (BAI) in the healthcare industry in the U.S. in 2011. It says that BAI grew because many individuals having an insurance experienced growth in payment responsibility through copayments, coinsurance and deductibles. The step will allow some interesting analysis of the extent where performance of business office can impact on future business.
