The article presents a study on the structural embeddedness of political executives as an antecedent of policy isomorphism in municipalities. It says that a conduit in which information, expectations and pressures flow is formed within a social network of political executives. It relates the relational network data of mayors in Denmark and analyzes the similarity in expenditure allocation and municipal policy isomorphism. It argues that such isomorphism is associated with mayor network centrality, and the effect is altered depending on the political power, jurisdictions, or administration of mayors.
