ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study by D. Kansagara and colleagues, focusing on the benefits and harms of intensive insulin therapy (IIT) in glycemic control in hospitalized patients. The findings of the study showed that IIT did not reduce short-term mortality and increased risk for severe hypoglycemia. The study also showed that IIT reduced infection rates.
