ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study by H. Makani and colleagues focusing on how adding an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor or angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) to calcium-channel blocker (CCB) therapy reduces CCB associated edema in patients with hypertension. The study showed that combination CCB-RAS blocker therapy reduced risk for edema and patient withdrawal due to edema more than CCB monotherapy.
