ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the discussion of former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on the importance of credit unions in the financial industry during the World Council of Credit Unions Inc. (WOCCU) 2011 World Credit Union Conference in Glasgow, Scotland. Gordon forecasted that credit unions will continue have an impact in the financial industry in the coming years due to the mutual trust of their clients. Furthermore, he says that financial institutions must change the financial system.
