ABSTRACT
The article reports on a bill sponsored by Idaho Senator Tim Corder that will relocate egg-laying hens in spacious spaces. According to Corder, the bill will create jobs and it is fairly benign, environmentally. It relates that after passing of the bill in 2011, the state is currently finalizing a siting-and-permitting process for large- and medium-sized poultry facilities that includes identification of sensitive groundwater resources but possibly will not require pollution-monioring wells.
