ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the major events related to the rubber industry in the U.S. which have taken place since the year 1971, and have been reported by the periodical "Rubber and Plastics News." On August 16, 1971, the publication of the periodical started, and in the same year Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. opened its off-the-road tire plant in Topeka, Kansas. It is reported that, in the year 1976 the biggest strike in the history of the industry took place which lasted for 141 days.
