On August 16, 1971, the publication of the periodical started, and in the same year Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. opened its off-the-road tire plant in Topeka, Kansas. It is reported that, in the year 1976 the biggest strike in the history of the industry took place which lasted for 141 days.
