ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the Insurance Bureau (IB) of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), an agency authorised to supervise insurance companies and intermediaries in Taiwan. Roles of IB include issuance of licenses for businesses and insurance brokers, supervision of their operations, and reviewing of applications for mergers and acquisitions. The set forth principles established by IB in reviewing applications for acquiring an insurance company are mentioned.
